Britt woke up in Jack’s glorious arms.
Jack…whatever his last name was. She hadn't a clue who he was. Kicking her way out of the sheet, Britt got to her feet and clutched her head instantly. It pounded like an unsuccessful road construction project and her teeth hurt, actually ached from the hangover. Stumbling to the bathroom with annoyance, she drank water and took a shower and drank more water, chastising herself for letting it get this bad.
She knew to drink water and take aspirin before bed to help curb this hideous feeling. She needed a full breakfast, something big. But she was stuck with this guy who thought it was socially acceptable to hang out after a one-night stand. Britt didn’t have any experience with a one-nighter except that time in college with the one guy in her women’s studies class, the one with the tattoo of a hard drive motherboard on his chest. That hadn’t ended well but for sure he had at least had the courtesy to leave her dorm immediately afterward. Were they supposed to have breakfast together? Bond in some way? She had work. He had…probably the unemployment line or guitar practice or something. Mainly, she needed head-space to get ready for her day and try to forget what she’d done the night before, namely some guitarist whose last name was a mystery better left unsolved. The guy was HOT! But she knew she would never see him again.
Or would she?

I liked it but it was frustrating because it felt like when the story was really starting to go somewhere it ended on a cliffhanger. Otherwise liked the story.Product details

Looks like just another of those can't wait to have sex books. There was no real conflict, no real storyline. Just another book where the characters can't seem to stay out of each others pants long enough to have a meaningful conversation. Oh and don't expect a full length story either - which might have helped. Perhaps if the story had been just a little longer the author wouldn't have felt the need to try and cram the sex thing in the first couple of chapter's. What happened to a slow build up?
The story was good.
I was pleased it was a full size novel for a first book.
When I got to around 50% through the read, it ended and began another book sample., entirely different book.
Little disappointed in that. Maybe if the sample would have been on the part two of the same series I wouldn't be so let down.
I'll try a sample of book two first. See how enthralled I am before purchasing.
I'm only knocking one star off for the deceiving on the page count.
Other than that, the story itself was good.

I loved reading The Boss's Son(My Office Romance Book 1), all about Britt a twenty-eight year old Accountant. She was meeting her boyfriend Kevin for dinner and they would be talking about going to look for an apartment they could both live in. However instead of talking apartments, he broke up with her instead. A gentleman at the bar sent her a margarita, she went over and thanked him, his name is Jack and she invited him to gave dinner with her, and he excepted. They hit it off and talked for hours, then they slept together, and he stayed over. Talk about ackward, but eventually he left and then they took a cab to pick up their cars! The author wrote a unique story and the characters made the story cone to life! Read about Britt & Jack and see where things go! It was a page turner and I can't wait to read story 2 & 3!
Britt met Jack at a restaurant when she got dumped by a cheating boyfriend. He was hot, funny, interested in her and wants more. Britt is just afraid to take more since she spent 6 months with the wrong man. Can Jack change her mind?
Britt loses the skeevy boss she has to retirement, only to gain a new boss she can respect. Only one catch here - his son is Jack! Jack the amazing one night stand she thought she could put behind her. Well, she was trying to anyway.
Jack does not understand why she is pushing him away when the chemistry between them is explosive! They clicked so fast. Both in bed and out. Now they occasionally work together and she is grabbing the excuse to keep him in the distance.
Britt is torn since he has made her feel beautiful and all sorts of things she never had before. Jack is really the most amazing man. She comes with a lot of hangups. Can they work it out before it's too late?
I found this book to be a quick and satisfying read that left me wanting more. It was such a well thought out plot. I would only change one thing if I could, and that is that Britt would not wait so long to claim Jack!

Sadly I can only give this book a 3 star rating, not that the story is bad, or poorly written, though there were times that it simply did not make a lot of sense, no my issue is that this was a free book, however, to get the entire story you had to buy 2 other books @ $2.99 each. so this "free" book cost $5.98 to read the entire book. It is not as if each book is a complete story that could either end there or go on, no it is just the next section of the same book, it doesn't miss a beat, just picks up as if you were turning a page almost. The sections are very short, about 100 pages each. So it would have been a good book, around 300 pages, or a little over, and if they did not want to offer it for free, that would have been OK as well. However, to offer the first 3rd for free, then charge for the next 2/3rds is a bummer. I have gotten into this before, thank goodness it was only 3 sections, not 5 like before. But at $2.99 per section, it still cost about the same. I can afford to pay $6.00 for a book, that is not the issue, just that I hate to be charged for something that was presented as free.
Britt was so annoying. She was so unbearably indecisive. She couldn't stop thinking about Jack but then she was blatantly rude to him. She acted as if what happened between them was horrible and took it out on him. Then when she does decide to go out with him, she is really blunt and flirty. Way too bipolar for me. Had to stop reading after 33%. I liked how it started but then she just kept acting like her spending the night with him was the worst thing she had ever done in her life, she kept telling him it was a mistake and she was ashamed of her indiscretion. I have no idea why Jack would be interested in her. No wonder Kevin cheated on this hot mess.....
PS The dialogue between Britt and her friend Marj seems very shallow and the back and forth banter was irritating.
With this. All stories were cliffhangers. The first book was okay and you got to know the characters and storyline. But over all, to me it wasn't that good. Glad it was free.
